The 1200 is the standard in most clubs for one reason - they dont break. This doesnt make them better turntables tho. There are plenty of turntables with more features and more torque than the 1200's have to offer

Dont get me wrong, im not saying the 1200 is a crap, because it is a really well made piece of equipment, but IMO its too old fashioned and lacking in inovations other makers have long since incoporated into their decks. Theyre great for club because they need to be able to take a beating in such an environment.

The problem with second hand Technics 1200's is finding them.
99 out of 100 people who finally decide to buy a pair or 1200's usually never want to let them go...neither would I...
