i think a reason some people choose not to reveal who they really are is because people will treat them diffrently then if they didn't have this diffrence. Does that make sense? An example is when i got baptized when i was 16 my friends didn't talk to me anymore because they thought i was "diffrent" which was ridiculous.

See the good side of it. If they stopped talking to you because of such stupid reason, that's because they weren't true friends. Luckily, you found it out with something "trivial": it would've been a lot worse if you were in trouble and they had turned their back to you when you needed them the most

And sometimes you don't need to do something in order to be "the different one"
