Depends on the style.
For most tracks in the Euro/HardTrance/Dance style, offbeat bass is still the best (it's popular for a reason), and a lot of artists use it.

That doesn't mean it has to be primitive, you can make it hard or warped or low and everybody adds a second bass-synth on top of it, so...

Fuck wit.. this is why people don't try new things or ask as many questions as they should, coz of wankers like you who have nothing better to do with there simple lifes then shoot other artists down.. yeah it took me around 4 hours of playing around to get that kick and bassline sounding the way it is.. i thought i'd just give my insite into how i created..

He has a point. People need to focus LESS on bashing and "oh this sucks because bee bee beep" and try to contribute instead.
