yeh fair enuff, she fucked up and she deserved to be punished. but 3 years in jail?!?! that's a sentence i associate with people who pose a threat to society, she may be funny looking but in no way can she be considered such a danger as to deserve three long years in prison.
but that's just me.
she is pretty funny lookin

Um just a few things
1. David etheridge got 3 years jail as well, so alls fair there....
2. She fraudulently weaseled out of the government over a million bucks for her party....
Now excuse me if you find 3 years to harsh but personally i think its fair, there is so much emphasis today put on the fact that blue collar workers dont get harsh enough sentences for their crimes, that might be true but in my opinion a white collar worker like Pauline and co should know better then to commit the crime in the first place, and so should recieve a harsh sentence....
If those at the top of the social ladder can get away with breaking the law with only minor penalties why shouldnt those at the bottom???
Just my 2 cents....

not much of a fraud, more of a technicality.
she needed 500 party members to register a party. Instead she signed 500 supporters. It's not like there weren't 500 rednecks out there that they could have signed to the party and done it all properly. so really she was entitled to the money, she was just to dumb to fill in the forms right. i read someone's suggestion yesterday that a more suitable punishment would have been community service in an aboriginal soup kitchen, or in the detention centres. This ruling reeks of the major parties trying to keep their monopoly, and no matter how much we may dislike hanson's policies, this sentence sucks for democracy.

definitly a fairly measured sentence as a consequence of government infringement, nothing to do with her views or what her party stands for.

i just love it how rapist, murderers, criminals get sentenced to 5 years, and then let out on paroll after 2.
A better punishment would be for her to pay back the $500,000 dollars she wasted.
that would suck , but i dont agree with a 3 year jail sentence.
edit: if she ran her party from prison i would still vote for her , hah !

Electeral Fraud...
The party wasn't registered properly.. meaning that their votes were not legit... meaning that ppl wasted their votes on sumthing that wasn't even real... meaning they WASTED their votes! That to me is big because these people who voted for her were missled.. there was a change in power since alot of ppl voted for her that could have voted or would have originally voted for sum other party.
THAT is why the sentence is so harsh!!!
