Hey Chavez,
I have actually been doing for a long time. First time I touched a set of decks was in about 1986 (Makes me an oldie ). I think if I didn't filter out he crap I would have in the region of 10'000 (guesstimate) by now.
To be honest it's very rarely that I actually get sent anything that I will play out. The test pressings for the good stuff are only really sent to the guys who are at the very top (Oakenfold, Corsten etc.)
But yes... you have to prove that you are playing out on a regular basis, doing the odd radio show here and there will help too.
That's the sad thing about too many record shops (Not the online ones), they will try and fob you off with any old cack if you are young and keep a lot of the promos for the guys they know. But if you get a job in one, you will have access to someof the better stuff out there. A lot of DJs get sent the wrong stuff and will usually come and trade them for stuff they want so you would be in a good position to get your hands on some goodies.
Cheers
Nem
