yes, I found that rather odd too. Are you sure your using the correct jumper positions? IIRC, WD drives store the jumper in a "neutral" spot for master, but I may be wrong. Try taking the jumper out alltogether.

As for your comment about the mouse & keyboard not syncing properly, you may be on to something with this. When I boot up sometimes my mouse is not working and I have to go in the back, unplug my mouse cord from the PS/2 slot and plug it back in. Then it works fine. I'm running the latest drivers as well.

this is why I don't run wireless stuff, yet. Did you use these extensively on an old PC in the same room/area without hassle, or is this the first time? You may be experiencing interference. If you have an old wired kb/mouse try substituting and see if it helps.

For the voltage, I'm seeing that my +12V is running at about 11.8-11.9V which appears to be underpowered...but I don't know much about the power distribution in PCs.

well within spec, don't worry about that. Even though you do happen to have a floppy can you try setting first boot device to IDE just for the heck of it? As another member said, make sure you have the latest BIOS aswell! Also, if your board has a built in scsi/raid controller make sure that it's disabled

yup hes right there, its always advisable to use master / slave /single (for the drives that have this)

No, these are the first wireless devices I have used on a computer before.
