I have high doubts for this. First of all, your "application" you are describing is pretty much a website. There is no need to write a windows application or otherwise for this. That would only make it inconvienient.

The event reminder thing would be best done by email.

I think the most difficult part of this project would be compiling the information quickly and easily into one database. And getting clubs to actually care. You need to simutaneously get a userbase and club support. I suggest you start locally, and branch out from there. Otherwise this won't go anywhere.

I was thinking along the same lines...sounds more like a PHP/SQL portal of sorts that is accessible to handheld devices that have web access.

No offense meant djSlain, but there is no point in re-inventing the wheel.

It is a good idea, but you really should focus your efforts on a different approach.

hmmm, well upon doing sketches and research at pizza hut, there is going to be a lot more than just organizing the "party hard" clubbers out there. I've come up with a lot of OTHER ideas that would fit the average "part Hard" clubber out there. Besides, i don't have a lot to do except time travelling, drinking capri sun and passing my English class.

They said all these new Reality TVs is just reinventing the wheel and would eventually DIE, but its still the hottest shit out there

Couple ideas for the program:

GPS to find every club and bar in the world.(for the PDAs)

Auto updates of events and news

List of tour dates of your favorite Djs/Artists or Alarm
that tells you if your favorite Djs/Artists is playing near you

And a list of people that are going to the event(Like a buddie list)
also an invite feature

You obviously don't understand what I said about reinventing the wheel.

Your program and reality tv have nothing in common.

Well, if thats your best idea... good luck.

I think if your really wanted this, and wanted to put the time into it, you *could* do it locally. You need to go to all the clubs, talk to the clubbers, and promote yourself.

1. You need to learn php/asp/whatever or find someone that will be able to write or modify a portal system for you.

2. After that is done, you start promoting yourself. You can't go up to a club manager and say.. "hey $50 bucks gets you a spot on my website" .. to start you need to be free. No banners, no ads , nothing. Put up posters, and use word of mouth to get people interested in your site.

3. If you start getting the hits, and your site is starting to look like a sucess, then you can start thinking about charging, and having ads.
