Russian is like number 5 on the list of most spoken languages. (Mandarin Chinese being the first)

Some languages don't have grammar and have a syntax instead, like Japanese.

1. Dutch
2. Spanish
3. Vietnamese
4. Unknown (yet)

I listed them in the order of usefulness. I'd need to know some Dutch first, as I plan to go to the Netherlands in the near-future. I want to know Spanish because it's partially in my genes. To me, Vietnamese is a rather interesting language and I have some friends who are Vietnamese (/me would love to know what they are speaking of! LOL!). I plan to visit Vietnamese and the rest of Asia at a point unforeseen in the future.

If anyone can point me in the right direction, thanks very much!

Your title is very misleading; I was about to suggest names of compilers and stuff like that

Wanna learn a language?
http://www.yourdictionary.com (grammar + dictionary + free courses)
http://www.omniglot.com (different alphabets you may want to learn)
http://www.google.com (seriously, check out the directories: there's all the info you need about most languages)

Read grammars, vocabulary guides and all sort of similar stuff. Does it work? Well, most of my knowledge on Russian language came from what I found there: people could understand me, I could understand some things people said and I've never been there Get as many sources as you can: listen to the language whenever you have the chance (even in the internet), look for real books or websites (I personally hate softwares), and the most important of all - practise whenever possible

What are my books on Japanese grammar talking about then?
