wtf is wrong with an audigy for playing purposes? the one model down and was released like a year ago, i hardly think im gona notice the different or push an a2 to its potential unless i use it for more than just music playing.

Yea im in the same situation as u .. nothing wrong with an audigy .. i only upgraded to an audigy 2 from an sblive value as the live value didnt have digital connections ..

But the difference in sound quality from a cheapy pair of yamaha yst m25s i think to these cambridge soundworks was amazing .. if anything tho I wish the sub was more powerful .. some tracks could really make use of it and my sub is rated 150w rms :/

Calm down. Nothings wrong with an Audigy 1, just thought you might wanna get as good a one as possible to save you having to upgrade again 5 minutes later!

And as I have no idea what the population of your household is, or how often it's populated by said individuals, I had no idea they'd be used only once in a while.

So do what you like. If you're gonna make use of 'em, get some good ones, if not, dont.
