My father introduced edm to me in the early 90's. He was really into electonic pioneers such as Giorgio Moroder and Jean Micheal Jarre who were rockin' the synthesizer back in the 70's. From there I discovered bands like the Prodigy, Chemical Brothers and Crystal Method. I too was a big fan of the Wipeout series mainly because of the soundtrack. By 15 I was going to clubs, electronica was out of my system and I had a new found love for tribal and hard trance. As time would pass I would learn about world re-nouned dj's such as Pvd and Sasha & Digweed who I didnt like at first (DJ Remy was tops on my list). By 1999 Pvd and S&D had grown on me considerably and I became connected to their music.

My best friend and I discovered Tranceaddict around the same time around November 2000 and everytime i would come home on leave, him and I would go to Laga. Even thought there never was a Trance Scene in Pittsburgh, we still had fun seeing Dj's like the Zeltch Brothers, 7up, Clevr, and so on. The only time we went to the BeeHive was this one night when Danny the Wildchild was there but he never showed but Alaska still tore it up that night
occrider.....did you ever go to Metropol? im sure you heard about the time they booked Oakenfold and they didnt have the right tables for him to play on so they just put one of his mix cds in

Yup, I went to CMU. The beehive and Laga were most certainly the shit of the shit. It definetely puts things in perspective when you go to a good club in DC or NY. Hehe I definetely have fond memories of dancing in those small shitty ass clubs where there was barely more than 100 to 200 people there. It sucks that Pitt was such a jungle/dnb town . It was ok for a bit but then it got old quickly. Haha yea I went to metropol all the time though. I think went there when they brought Oakenfold (the second time), Carl Cox, and Sasha&Digweed. Does Laga still throw friday night parties? I checked the "rave-o-matic" and I didn't see them on there. Oh well, it was fun while I was going to school, but I can't go back after seeing international DJs hehe. I've been spoiled in DC.

Yep Pittsburgh is still the same old D&B city that it always was....its funny though cause there are more fucking candy kids here than i ever seen Laga still has their Friday nights......it was actually pretty decent a few months back when they moved Groove to Metropol on Friday nights but i guess they couldnt afford the the rent so they moved it back to Laga. Laga is the biggest shit hole now.....i havent been there in over a year. Thats pretty cool you went to CMU. Engineering Degree? Great school!!!
peace,
Brian
