Satan (eek!) Say Cheeeeeese .....

But I guess I'd say ... it is just an awful waste of space ... you get the idea...

EURODANCE is cheese, baby. Z103 (TO's radio station) has just overplayed it, its so annoying, songs sound alike ... plus the whole gay community loves eurodance - total turn-off for me. No offence to anyone. As for non-dance&electronica music genres like rock, pop and rap ... that's much worse than cheese, what do you call that ...\

lol, nothing of ferry's has been commercially sucessful for 4 years.

If your using that criteria for selection whats cheesy, how about going for Paul Van Dyk? He outsells ferry, but obviously he isnt cheese.

I would also like to remind all the prog heads that sasha is signed to a pop music label.

one definintion of cheese could be a song that is catchy and appeals to the masses, but isn't able to hold a long attatchment to the masses.

if you wanna use general music, you can use say the backstreet boys. they were huge for a while, and eventually their fame died out.
then you compare that to say pink floyd's dark side of the moon. an absolute masterpiece that appealed the masses and is still loved to this day.

now in the electronic dance music world i'd consider most club anthems cheese. stuff that your run of the mill person who really doesn't know much about dance music loves. like DJ sammy - heaven.
but hey, theres nothing wrong with likeing it.
when i first got into electronica i listend to sandstorm all the time.
along with ATB, and DJ Jean - the launch, and zombie nation - kernkraft 400 .
when i was into this stuff, i remember i heared john digweed's GU Los Angeles and Bedrock albums, and i thought it was soooooooooooooooo boring. i was like what the hell is this. nothing is happening .

not until i had really listend for a long time and started DJing, did i really get into the music that would be considered "good" or "not cheesey."

but really in the end though, it all comes down to subjectivity. just listen to what you like. thats what its all about. don't be detered from your music just because someone else puts it down. listen to what they have to say, but continue to listen to what you like. tastes tend to change over time.

Surely a cheesy track is like one of those photo's where everyone's been asked to say "Cheese" for the cliched classic pose....
