hopefully it will not be all glam as everyone says it may turn out to be. Crobar has done so much in the past. I've only been there a few times, but enjoyed the nights there.

Altman is promoting that opening, I am sure those of us on his e-mail list will get about twenty five thousand of his spam emails in one week about the opening.
And, I am sure his "glam" crowd will be in full force as well.
This Glam crowd will be pretty typical of the rive gauche and white star yuppies rolling up in mommy and daddy's SUV's... barf-o-rama.

If you want the old Crobar, we'll have to go to the Guvernment in Toronto.

Don't forget that each of Altman's twenty five thousand emails about the new Crobar will use the terms "premier" and "without a doubt, Chicago's busiest nightclub!!!" about 324 times.

Went to Crobar Saturday…in a word: AWESOME. No Brad Altman, lots of old Crobar kids - but dressed up same great vibe, everyone was extremely excited to be back. The new venue and sound system are incredible. It was at capacity by 10:30 and packed til closing (at 6 with the bonus hour). Teri Bristol was good – she spun a range from her old Crobar style hard stuff to some tribal house sounding beats (Scot Project – Overdrive is still killer). With Spundae being inconsistent (great music and venue but a mostly lame crowd -Excalibur), Chicago really needed this alternative.

awesome

I'd heard of people standing in line for hours for this... I'm excited to see some competition for spundae... wish it was back on friday nights tho.

Techno / house on fridays @ crobar.
prog / trance on saturdays @ vision...

a man can dream.

I had other friends that got there at 12 and more around 2/230 and they said the line was so long there was no chance they could get in.

They will be bringing in one-off big shows on some Fridays I'm still dreaming of PVD in the new Crobar...

You really have to check out this venue!

I'm glad to hear that some people anjoyed it. The reviews in my circle of friends were all unflattery. Teri Bristol isnt my cup of tea, nor is Mr. Altman but kudos to those who supported.

Im totally not trying to be a smartass either, but...

Scott Project head over heels Hard German Trance, not tribal. (i think i might have read that wrong though... if so, im sorry)

INTERIOR

How was the interior decor??

Is it "upscale," "trendy," and "nice?"

Or is it similar to the old (good) Crobar?

What about the sound system and lighting? Has it changed?
