you can play mp3 with media player... dont know why but it runs alot better then winamp on my computer.

How many programs do you have runing at once? If you have to many you may have a memory problem while Anti-virus is running. I have Norton Anti Virus 2003 pro, and using Winamp 3. Everything is running fine for me. You can get the version I have from Kazaa or some other downloading utility.

Edit In: I just checked my task manager, and i'm only using 5.5 Mb of memory. That's with 6 playlists with over 2000 songs in each.

i thought windows media player used a lot more of memory than winamp (2). never had any problem at all with my winamp, apart from crashes and bugs related to plugins i installed. the plugins, skins, etc make it a lot better than media player IMO..

and whatever you do, don't touch winamp 3 - now that's a piece of shit software.
