Usually around one hour, maybe longer if I'm really getting into it. I couldn't mix in my bedroom for several hours, as much as I love trance and DJing it would get a bit boring

Hi

My longest is 8 hours, non stop. I had just got some new speakers and I couldnt stop myself. I was loving it. Although when 1st got my decks i didnt leave them for a reaaally long time, but I dont know how long it was.
On average a couple of hours a day spinning, depending on what mood I'm in.

you guys should rearrange your room so that the decks are facing inwards, might be better that way. i found it hard to mix for long periods of time staring at a wall in my old room. i think thats one of the funniest things about djing, is that it is a lot easier in a proper setup, with people dancing in front of you.

i spin about an hour a day on average, have been doing a lot more since i have been getting more tunes recently. much more fun when you are mixing in fresh stuff.

Well, I have like ADD or something because I usually mix for about 20 minutes, stop, go do something else, and repeat the process. So I probably get around an hour a day.

i do it whenever i can.

it sucks cuz my neighbors always complaing about noise (bass carries thru walls). so whenever they are gone the first thing i do is jump on the decks and spin until i hear them knocking on the walls.

when i dont have to worry about other people, and i have time, i'll get on the decks and do marathon sets. i'll throw on a song, sit at the computer dick around on TA, then when its time to do the mix get up do that, then come back. going as long as i can. normally i'll get atleast 2 or so hours in.

other times when i mix, i'll just throw down songs and skip the middle parts and just go to the parts where i do the mix.

There's not enough space for that in a dorm room

I like doing 2 hour mixes usually but i have done up to 5 hours max.

My room faces out across the backyard overlooking a pool and has a nice view of the mountains so its easy for me to relax while im mixing

anything longer than two hours i just randomly pick tunes from my shelf. very rarely do i play for longer than two hours in the bedroom. i lose motivation too quickly.

in my short spirts of djing i surpise myself with what i can do, but every time i try to record it, it turns to shite.

Yeah me too and by the sounds of it, its the same for many, I suspect one of the arts of a truly good DJ (among the many others) is to be able to recreate that perfect mix over and over. I have found the addage record everything to be particularly valuable.

I use NI Traktor and it gives me the ability to record the control states so that not only can I play back the music, I can see what the control states were so when I hear a particularly awful piece of mixing (a common event on my setup) I can see what not to do next time and on those rare occassions when I get it right I can what I need to attempt for the next run through.
