yeah i wouldn't post sites where u can get full albums and singles....but i really don't see why we can't post programs and sites that offer dj sets.....i'm really not too sure about the legalities, and i often wonder...but, and forgive my ignorance here, i'm assuming it's not illegal to download sets that aren't copyright, and have been approved for release by the dj??
but i guess there are other issues....like, whether the fact that the tracks in a set are copyrighted means distributing a set is technically illegal?? or, the fact that a lotta sets are ripped from radio, wonder if that makes it illegal too - i dunno the rules these days, but i know it used to be illegal to record from the radio.....
anybody up on the legalities of all this?? i'm curious....and too busy at work to be googling this arvo...hehehe

Short answer= It's all illegal. Playing tracks in clubs is only legal coz the club pays a "broadcasting license".
Swamper didn't want ANY music sharing based threads created @ the risk of the RIAA trying 2 shut this place down (rather be over then under cautious )

i'm curious tho - if Swamper doesn't want any talk of music sharing cos of the RIAA, why then does he allow both live sets and singles to be posted for download on TA itself?????

PM him and find out his reasons. It could be to do with the fact it doesn't use the buzz words, the RIAA are after, i donno, nor do I care

Yee livesets on TA are fuckall the RIAA, i mean they're broadcasted on free to air radio anyway. As for singles, Shampoo gets each artists permission before puttin them up for download - thats why there are very few singles updates.

Sorry guys I can't let this stay here - TA doesn't condone filesharing.
All singles and sets posted officially on tranceaddict.com are done so with the artist's and label's permission
