with that being said...i always wondered...these dj's flying all over the world...do they pay for their airfare or is that somehow included by the promoters? i figure is wouldn't be too horrible if they paid it themselves since they were going to make 40k that night, but just curious hehehe..

depends on the contract. Sometimes the promotor would pay for everything etc... sometimes not....

It all depends what is signed on the dotted line.

also depends on the deejay because certain deejay ryders are rediculous like paul oakenfold but then again he can ask for pretty much anything. Most deejays ask for a decent flight, hotel and dinner + the gig. Depends on the dj tho because certain deejays have crazy ass demands then again, nothing beats the pop stars demands with their ryders.

i still remember....when oakenfold came to a party here...in the middle of no where in a dusty field in texas..and he came 5 min right before he was scheduled to dj. His ass apppeared in a black limo.....in a old texas heep yard

I know that Lawler made around 15,000 for a Thursday night here in Chicago - I also know that some promoters (such as Spundae) is able to do a contract with a dj to play at various sites and guarantee dates - so the dj signs a huge ass contract for x nights for x dollars.

I heard a rumor that PvD signed a contract with some DC promoters for 100,000 to appear 3 times or some such thing. Don't quote me on that.

What does Jon'O bir cost, he is damn good and looks like he is the kinda guy who DJs for $ 50 and free beer

I will say that a few deejays have dropped their fees because the music industry problems. Steve Lawler, Nick Warren both dropped their fees then again Nick Warren plays for free every month at this club in the uk only because they agree to take his fee and use it to make the club better.
