No, ive even heard of it happening with coffee. That time the woman put a spoonful of sugar into her coffee when it was still in the microwave and thought it was the metal that made it explode.
U just have to keep it heating till all the airs out of it, like tiny bubbles inside barely visible scratches on the side of the cup/glass iirc
