Bit of a late reply but I'll put in my 2c anyway.
I had a pretty unreal night overall, despite some of the shortcomings of the venue. Don't believe the hype regarding the extensive renovations to the venue, because I was there about 3 months ago for the Astral Projection gig and nothing much had changed other than the sound system and DJ booths. I still think it is a good venue, especially if downstairs is used as well, but it needs better toilets, air conditioning, bigger cloak room, and running out of water halfway through the event was a bit of a joke.
But luckily the music on the night made up for all those problems (well it did for me anyway). I spent the first few hours in the Liberty room and heard some great music from Scott Oliver, Simon Bell, Scott Baker and Muli. Then it was back to the GK room to hear Marco V and M.I.K.E. and boy did they deliver! Marco V's set was just relentless from start to finish, blurring the lines between trance and techno, and he played quite a few of his own tracks and remixes which was good to hear. Got 3 records signed too which was great.
M.I.K.E.'s set was also excellent, lots of hands in the air moments, as well as some more underground techy tracks to keep things interesting. It was such a great honour for me to be in his presence and for him to play Universal Nation (although it may have been expected) will go down as one of my most memorable clubbing moments. I wish he played more of his own tracks but that's just a minor complaint. I wasn't able to identify many tracks in his set but remember hearing
Push - Universal Nation (obviously)
AR52 - Timegate
Kansai - Rococco (Fire & Ice Remix)
Umek - Gatex (DJ Tiesto Remix?)
M.I.K.E. - Turn The Lights Out
Anyone got some more?
Only downer of my night was not getting my records signed by M.I.K.E. because I didn't leave the main room soon enough to get them from the cloak room. I didn't realise I'd be standing in line for 15 minutes but maybe if there was more than 1 person working there I might have got back before he left
A big shout to the ITM/TA crew who I partied with on the night, you know who you are. It wouldn't have been as good without you guys.
