He uses a program called Final Scratch which is kinda like an Mp3 program I guess. Never seen it in action personally, but PvD was using it to feed his mp3 files into the mixer as opposed to cdr's and vinyl. He still used a "real" mixer though and proved he's easily one of the best, maybe THE best, at doing so.

Fabulous night.

I wish he played longer.

As for the whole FS thing... they make it for MAC now? That was a powerbook laptop he had up there along with 3 djm 1000's and I think 3 techs.

Crazy night though.

Nice meeting some of the tranceaddict crew.

i've seen it used upclose before and it really is amazing technology. The whole system is designed by Stanton and the laptop runs off software compatible on both PC/MAC that hooks up from stereo to RCA to some kinda round device that connects to these weird looking slipmatts on the decks. It all calibrates and basically the mp3 track on the laptop sychronizes with the RPM of the slipmatt on the decks and as you move the matt, the software automatically adjusts the placement on the mp3. amazing stuff!

Is it just me or do those crowd pics make it look like it was a 98% male audience?
