I was 2 years old when my mother was arrested for reading New York times. She was pragnant at the time and she was tortured so bad the baby died in her stomach and I'm not even gonna tell you about my dad. All for readin an Amerian News paper. |
The mother of a a good friend of mine was an Iranian political prisoner, i'm not sure of the specifics, but she was able to chose exile in australia over life imprisonment because she had friends in powerful places

Seriously though, I think the greatest thing for the middle east right now is if Iran were to democratize peacefully, and enjoy its previous relations with the USA and Israel (hence netrualizing the middle east) |
It would help neutralise the collective paranoia of the whole area, and maybe cause a domino effect of democratic revolutions in the region. Only a peaceful resolution within the government would work though, if democracy is coerced upon them by foreign countries, or if it happens through a bloody coup, leaders of other middle eastern nations would become more paranoiac than ever
I saw a documentary on Iranian peasants and farmers, it's a very peaceful culture, if a stranger was to walk into a poor farmers house, the farmer would offer his own food just to appease the guest, even if that means his family goes hungry

lesson number one in my photography course:
Blue and yellow form the most beautiful contrast.
|
it's beautiful, but is it aesthetically universal?
