You're right, it's come to the point were the means of freeing the country has become irelevant. Whether by peaceful means or military intervention. Peaceful revolution is of course preferable but it's come to the point that people interviewed in Iran were saying they'd rather die by Bush's bombs than the slow death imposed by the Mullahs.

a friend of mine from Iran in toronto told me the same thing as you guys! Everyday as much as I hope for the end of the problems in Israel, I hope for the end of the problems in the Iran and other occupied countries. My friend told me that Iran would be a super power if it were not for the extremists. I believe him that Iran would be a very great country! Apparently Iran has like some of the nicest lakes and bodies of water?? I think soon Iran will be overthrown?? How long can this go on for ??

Personally I have no idea about the details, but I imagine with brutality like Illusion mentioned with his mother being beaten (so sad ) how can they have a living rebellion?? Where is its base and how far are they from overturning the current government???

It would be such a good thing for Israel too!

Anyways I do hope that things change in Iran,without interference of U.S or any other country,last time we got fucked over because of America bringing the Mullahs,lets see what they have in store for us this time.I just pray to god that the Mojahedin wont get involve in any of this,because if they get the power,things will be even worst as it is now.If you think the current regime is religious,then wait till you see the Mojahedins

It would help neutralise the collective paranoia of the whole area, and maybe cause a domino effect of democratic revolutions in the region. Only a peaceful resolution within the government would work though, if democracy is coerced upon them by foreign countries, or if it happens through a bloody coup, leaders of other middle eastern nations would become more paranoiac than ever

I saw a documentary on Iranian peasants and farmers, it's a very peaceful culture, if a stranger was to walk into a poor farmers house, the farmer would offer his own food just to appease the guest, even if that means his family goes hungry

The element for change in Iran is there...its being held back by the clerical elite who dominate the government even though there is a movement for change led by democratic student supporters. I think that the unemployment and inflation rates that are rising will no doubt strike a blow to them in some way, but this could only mean more crackdowns. I don't think that branding them an Axis of Evil nation helped much, and only strengthened this theocratic gov'ts resolve against the Western bloc
