how do you monitor on it?
I just got my card and I tested to monitor with the phono-cables that I connect to the S/PDIF port (not the adat one but the pin one)
I can hear the sound but it's like LTS of noise too
is it even possible to monitor directly from the hammerfallcard or do I need to get optical stuff to do this? (like a mixer and such) |
I had to actually get an external mixer and for my analog lines, split them through patchbay and run a set to rack mixer and second set (so to say "fixed" lines) to RME. Patching sucked, so I decided to try out Tascam 1884 - got it set up last night and still working out various bugs. softare is version 1.0 so you can imagine what a pleasant thing it is to have - reboots for no aparent reason, Cubase not sensing internal clock, mixer runs in HUI (not native) emulation mode... Ughh... I only hope tech support at Tascam is worth talking to. RME is great my only gripe was lack of passive monitoring and no phantoms. I had Presonus FireStation but that was just complete junk for recording purposes - stand alone only... For $650??? I don't think so...
Hammerfall is great, especially if you're using Cubase - as it is supposedly native and really shines.
