thanks insomneac

if you are interested, i have a mix you may enjoy. i am not so much into atmospheric dnb type music, i really like fast tech-step. anyways, this mix is perfect for it.. is in heavy rotation in my car. so, i have to wait for my new motherboard/ram to arrive so i can install my new happy 80 gig hard drive.. once thats working, i will have room to rip the mix.

i dont know how to make an ftp or put anything online (since i dont have that much space), but if you want, i can send it to you on a messenger (i have all of them, and cable modem). i think you might enjoy it!

cd-wise, one i like a lot is dnb - armageddeon (the first one, there are two)... its mixed by dj bailey, about a year old i think. so some of the stuff on it will be older, but its good.

also, here are some sets right now that i like. again, once i get my new hard drive and have room, im going to download a LOT more so ill more to suggest

ones i like:

andy c & GQ - live in seattle 2001 (there are two parts to the set, this was his set at USC 5, was great in person the sound quality isnt great but i like the songs)

dieselboy, zacharia, and nitsuj - live at molecule 12-4-99
this was a party in seattle a few years back, older songs also, but a great mix.

speaking of zacharia/nitsuj also, if you ever come down to seattle and there is any form of jungle, odds are you will be hearing djs from the 360 BPM crew... all of which kick ass, it includes nitsuj, zacharia, slantooth, wyle, etc. look out for them

dieselboy, dara, and ak1200 - live at proper 4-22-00
i like the first portion, which is dieselboy. honestly, i find dara's stuff to be kind of boring, and ive never liked ak1200 in person, or any sets ive heard. the dieselboy part is good tho.

i was up in vancouver today and saw a flier, i guess the lotus has dnb nights on fridays now as well as tuesdays? i think i might come up there to check it out on the 21st. so if you wanted to delve a bit into the dnb scene and stop by, id be glad to chat about dnb or trance or anything

cool, thanks sothis
i didnt mean no one cared about dnb
just we didnt care if ppl thought kosheen was too ...commercial or what have you, i dunno what the description is SUPPOSED to be.

there's great dnb nights at urban well tuesday nights w/ djs vuxx and hi-fi... some of the craziest cutting and sampling around

and yea i like that fast "tech-step" (if thats what it is) too... not so much the atmospheric ltj bukem stuff..

patticus: ive never checked out the urban well, sounds interesting tho. my only deal with checking out places is that weekdays are kinda tough. right now i have a few more weeks till classes start back up at western.. so i have time to travel up there. during the quarter tho, i have sooooo much c++/math/whatever to do that its hard to come up on non weekdays. so yea, if you and insomneac want to check out a club in the next 2 weeks or so, i'd be down. would be nice to meet more vancouver kids, since its so close to me

insomneac: yea, its a bit cheaper, but generally the massive-sized parties get to be up around the same price as the ones down here. i don't have too much experience with smaller parties, just some of the big ones, and then clubs.

oh yea, for the person who liked atmospheric dnb (im too lazy to go back and check on the first page hehe)... i just went up to vancouver on sunday and bought the newest omni trio cd @ virgin. i hate it because its atmospheric.. you'd like it prolly then

djpsi: yea, i haven't heard *too* much kosheen so i wouldn't put it past anything that kosheen isn't always dnb.. like most artists. id much rather listen to andy c or ed rush anyways

that's cuz hide u got remixed into into a more trancey tune.

the original d&b tune was probably the biggest tune in the genre last year.

and i'm a d&b addict first, trance addict second.
probably partly because toronto is the biggest centre for d&b after the u.k.
