I've had a multitude of drives die on me.. I always manage to have most of my shit moved off them before they go completely tits up though.

i have the same setup and also another operating system on the mp3 drive.... if one crashes... i switch the primary hdd... reinstall and switch back!!!!!

Anyway I dunno if it's sympathy u want but u'll get none from me. CD Writers are as cheap as £30 these days. Blank CDRs are a few pence. The average life of a hdd is approx a year or two. There really is no excuse not to hav one
