You do know that FS still uses 2 turntables, 2 records and 2 needles dont you? Granted you dont need hi-def needles.... you could still potentially have a problem with the needle still skipping

Its a wonderous program... but expect to record your sets with that unless you have an external recorder. You will load Linux (or is it Unix?) on your puter and the program runs outside of windows.

There's been a few threads like this... the first was probably mine because I had exactly the same problem. I got a replacement, and although it's not quite as skip resistant as my other Whitelabel, it's good enough for me not to hassle the shop to change it again.

VIO suggested switching the carts, but you could also try swaping the stylus from each cart over to see what the problem is. But before you try this, make sure you try adjusting the length of the cart to make it shorter (read the manual).

My theory on this is that the alignment of the cart is critical - try loosening the screw and move the stylus end of the cart just a fraction to the left or right, then retighten the screw. This will change the alignment of the stylus in the groove and may affect trackability. In my experience, if the alignment is wrong, the stylus makes a rough dragging sound on the vinyl (turn your speakers off to hear this). Try comparing the raw sound of the two carts - I think the good one might sound cleaner and smoother in the groove.

i also had a thread like this as TranceInMySoul has stated. personally i've tried all the settings and nothing seems to work. even bought a new stylus and it didn't work. even those guys at pssl were dumbfounded on how and why it was happening after trying to mix/scratch with my cart. only thing left is to exchange it i guess. unfortunately for me it's been too long so i'll have to buy a new one and pray it works good.

Thumbs up

I'm not a shure-user, but it's NICE to see this kind of dedication and product support

i just got a pair of whitelabels and the first thing i noticed is the 4 wires are looping down. make sure to bend them up towards the cart a little bit so they dont hang down and bump the record...

Mine skipped when I bought them, and this was exactly the problem.
