I played the demo for about 3 days now with my PS2 controller, and I cannot believe people think this "game" can even hang with Fifa 2004, PES3 cearly stuck in the 2000's while Fifa is in the new generation already, Fifa 2004 is by far supirior to PES3, why ?
goalies - (PES has definitive advantage - fifa goalies should go to a PES training session)
referee - FIFA ref is fantastic this season. Some fouls are not called, etc. PES ref is very weird sometimes he gives away red card straight for a clean tackle(tackles from side usually end up in a straight red card too). Some times you receive red card straight for a tackle from behind, yet other time for same challenge only free-kick is awarded.
freekick/corners - FIFA has definitive edge, gives you more control
freestyle - i couldn't get the freestyle to work correctly in PES(i was only able to do a 360 turn) , FIFA has great tricks but I can't compare to PES
sound - PES sound is pathetic, FIFA top notch
graphics - PES graphics is from year 2000, FIFA top notch
player animations - PES player animation is horrible, players animation look very artificial(only goalies are animated very good). When players are watining for a ball/corner they stand in a stance similar to monkeys. FIFA players animation is top notch
Overall - From a gameplay standpoint the PES match looks more lively, but still the AI of your players is bad. Sometimes, it looks like they're afraid to do runs on their own(it's especially bad if you're on a counter-attack)
My "verdict" - FIFA is better overall. But both games have it's own "magic". I'll get both games. PES will be nice edition to my FIFA collection(all fifas from 96).
