The first time I heard Underworld's "Born Slippy" I was hooked. The part where it breaks down gave me the chills... and I felt that I understood the music better. From there... it was hard, until the internet really started to grow. Now... most of us have music months before it's release...

I remember ages ago, it must have been 94' I heard some electronic music on the radio, radio one i think, late night stuff, i had no idea what it was, i'd never heard anything like it, all my questions about this musc went unaswered or lead to dead ends, and 95 passed by also with the occasional glimps of wonderful music on the radio which i always recorded 96 came and went similarly, but then 97 was the break, at a party i heard what i later found out to be born slippy, and curve - chinese burn, BT - Flaming June and many others i loved it, to me born slippy captured brilliantly the essence of something, the whole being of a night, the confusing blasting out of lyrics that seem to capture the moment and describe things so perfectly, i loved that tune. And Flaming June was just as great if not better, i can't describe what made me love that track so much, i just did, and still do. Ofcourse at the time I only knew that i loved what i was hearing, and that I didn't want it to stop but it did stop and i had no where to turn for more. It was only in 98 that i became truly aware of electronic music, in particular trance. Then as i bought and downloaded old trance i realised that a lot of these i'd heard ages ago. After Phat Planet and my purchase of leftfield i bought their old album, to find that 3 of the tracks i'd heard and loved years back. The same goes for my more recent infactuations with Orbital when buying their old stuff i'd heard so much of it.
1998 saw me truley entering trance with For an Angel, Binary Finary, the first vinyl i ever got.. and broke, BT - Godspeed, and more.
I remeber thumbing through Radio times looking for anything decribed as dance trance or mentioning DJ, and i recorded it all on tape. up till mid 2000 that was my level, loving the music. Then Pvd @ Mayday 2000 was the first live set i heard that wasn't on the radio and it was slightly different and i loved it even more. Since then my trance turned from love to true addiction, and now i'm saving my pennies to buy decks and mixer, and making a list of records from the 'Good ole days' that i have to get a hold of... it's at about 250 now... and i've been told that some of the stuff on there is quite rare, so i'm gonna end up shelling out a lot if i want them all...
Finally to bring my trancing days up to near enough present, i've become friends with my friends brother as a result of trance and discovered this site a short while ago, cause of a live set i downloaded in I-mesh, i saw www.tranceaddict.com in the about box and though, hey, this looks promising, and here i am rambling/remeniscing (what a difficult word!) endlessly about something you couldn't give a crap about. I'm too young to be nostalgic!
