Hmm, RME have a nice price/quality ratio, but they don't come close to the higher grade apogee's (I'm not talking about stuff like the convertors in the Mini-me). Also, for those working in 96 kHz, the ADI randomly loses lock. Hope they'll fix it soon.

Another good point to consider a digital mixer for is easy connectivity via ADAT or TDIF (Tascam I/O). which cuts down on cabling volume, noise, and cost.

A basic yet good digital mixer that can run 96k is gonna be $about $2,000-$2,500 new, for either the Yamaha or Tascam. They depreciate so quickly becuase the next model renders tham obsolete in 18-24 months, analog boards don't really get upstaged too often (at least nothing under $150k).
