I know its a really easy bass to do and I feel like an idiot but I just havent discovered it too well.

Just my thoughts, but I'm probably wrong. It sounds to me like a cross between a saw and a square. Also, maybe some filter modulation to open and shut the filter. That can create that classical "whom" sound in basslines.

Ive managed to creat a whooph like sound cheggy by just making the Note quite short

Its still sounds nothing like it, Ive been using Junglist to try and make it. Any suggestions?

sorry to bump this old thing but that quote still confuses me, when you say a cross between a sawtooth and square wavforms you mean USING TWO 303/ABL basslines

cos yeah, there is only one osc

Use the Novation V-Station. The first bass preset when it opens is the one to use, put the note 1/4 of a step back - attack it, cut the frequency down a bit and fart on with it after that and a similar sound should come out of it when your done.
