I disagree, I think this was a very good year for trance, def. better than last year. I think that this year was a time of change though for the scene. Prog has taken a much stronger position it seems, and is more popular than ever. But I guess if you consider prog a seperate genre than trance than it was a bad year for trance. I believe this year was a year of evolution though, and some awesome tunes were released.

According to you he already crashed and burned a long time ago and has not recovered.

Anyways, since I lived in Holland from January to July I had the opportunity to see most of the 'superstars' in multiple occasions this year. Frankly, the only trance djs i can still tolerate are Tiesto and PvD. PvD as the ultimate hi energy party dj, Tiesto as the supreme artist and innovator of the genre. I just don't care for Armin and Ferry and the bunch of stale cookiecutter imitators out there. Other djs like J00F deserve recognition for their talent, but since their global impact has been on a minimal scale they still are not ready to break the Top 10.

If Tiesto doesn't win, I'd rather see someone like Sasha take it over Armin or Fairy.

I would like to see James Holden and Adam Freeland move up. And also, other genres should be given their due recognition. DnB's DJ Marky deserves to beat Andy C in my books, and John B should break into the Top100.

I think Sasha has been doing the best work this year. I have his sets from Glastonbury, Creamfields & Guvernment. They are insane. No one can top that.

I think Armin van Buuren has been fairly boring this year, I'd be disappointed to see him in the top five, but I'm sure he'll be there.

I haven't heard much from Tiesto this year, so I can't comment on that.

Paul van Dyk has had some very strong moments this year, but I don't think he's been as amazing as he has been during his career, so I can't feel like he deserves #1, even though he is my favorite DJ.

James Holden will definitely jump in the charts, although I've only heard his productions, not his DJing.

Adam Freeland has done an excellent job this year. Amazing essential mix plus a new band = he'd better get top 40.
