What Tijs were you looking at this year......

Ferry Corstens first 10 minutes of the right of way concert this past weekend blew tijs concert out the water.....dont make me post the tracklist.......

only godd thing this fool did this year was his remix of william orbit - baber's adagio for strings

so adagio or STFU

Mr. "Chairman?!" :
Your response once again does not surprise me ::sighs:: I didn't say I don't love other dj's or that there arent any with loads of talent as well... all I was sayin was that people voted for him for obvious reasons so its His deserved spot as number 1 once again.

Rach

ok....... having seen tiesto 12 times in the last year... I think I will respond in this topic now....

I've been a tiesto fan for a long time, he's the dj that really got me into the "scene" so to speak... I am grateful for that. And he was my favorite dj for a long time... 4 years I think....

But seeing him spin so often this past year, also showed me that the quality of his sets in general have decreased a lot (in my opinion)... I loved tiesto for the original sound he had... The "magik" sound (if you don't know what I mean, listen to Magik 6 )...

However, over the past year I've seen tiesto turn more into a "popstar" kind of figure... I call him our dutch version of Britney Spears.. Hell, even my grandma knows who he is at this point... And he's our only worldwide known dutch entertainment export...

My FAVORITE dj is Armin... I will in no way try to claim he's the BEST dj... because he's not... but who here can honestly say that they know who the BEST dj in the world is?? You can't determine that until you have heard every dj there ever was.... So yes, I see the DJ Mag poll as a popularity contest...

People say Tiesto deserved it for his concert... Tiesto deserved his concert for winning last year and accumulating all the fame BEFORE his concert... He doesn't deserve to win AGAIN because of his concert... It wasn't his concept, it's ID&T's concept... So if anything, ID&T should be winning that prize then....

There's a big difference between POPULARITY and being the BEST at something... Britney Spears is one of the most famous, most popular singers in the world, but does that make her the best?? No....

So this whole "DJ Mag top 100" is just a load of balls... and for all I care DJ Boozywoozy or Sammy can win next year because it really has no solid ground at all except for which dj has the most fans.....

That having been said.... Much love

I think its funny that you guys bitch about who won when its just who votes, not some panel that picks these guys. Its a popularity contest, and its no surprise that Tiesto and PvD are at the top because they are the most popular. Cheers to them for winning for whatever its worth I guess. Personally Of all the Trance Dj's on that list, J00F is by far the best but not the most popular. Oh well...

If the whole list bothers you then you should just ignore it, which I personally do.

I would defintely agree that the dj mag poll is a popularity test, and ive seen tiesto seven times this year, and four times the year before, and ive seen the likes of armin and ferry a few times in between. and all though those guys are great djs, they lack the artistry and creativeness that tiesto puts into his sets. personally i think armin plays way too many anthems in his sets, and just as much cheese as tiesto, and tiestos remix of adiagio's four strings BLEW ferrys remix out of the water, but thats my opinion. and all though i think pvd is TECHNICALLY a better dj, he doesnt take you on that journey like tiesto. same baseline thru every set, its like jesus slow down a minute, let me catch my breath! but hey to each there own. i just dont like this tiesto hating because truth be, even most of you guys doing the hating probably will be the first ones in line at his next miami gig, so wtf? i just flew up to D.C. and saw him at glow, and the energy was enoromous, and the track selection was suberb, and his mixing was back on point, i will admit that on july fourth at 34 his mixing SUCKED, but I still loved the track selection and energy and considering he just flew off a plane from spain and did the gig at the grove was pretty impressive and shows his love for music and MIAMI, remember that. he has his flaws on the decks, but overall he still impresses me the most, and his body of work is unparalelled, magik seris, isos's, in my memory, etc. plus he stole the show the last two years at ultra, just my opinion. armin is still a year or two away, but he is developing into a better dj all the time. just my opinion... but some of u need to be more creative with your critizisms. peace and love.

I was very satisfied with the top 3. Paul van Dyk is my #1 fav, followed by Tiësto, then Armin....So I'm not at all sore than Tiësto won 1st place...I really dig his livesets/shows. I still haven't seen Armin live, but he's still awesome and I'm glad he placed in the top 3. As for you other infidels hating on Paul and Tiësto, you can take your hating, turn it sideways and shove it up your asses.
