NOOOOOOO!!!

Ok, Gielen gets some crowd reactions, but a Gielen crowd isn't your average TA crowd.

Gielen is ok for party's for beginning trancers like TE...

And the Gielen solo's usually don't attrackt die hard TA's but more an MTV crowd.

But hey, if he's at #24 a lot of people must have voted for him...

I couldn't care less if he was left out of the top 100, but that's just me...

Though his mixing quality is bad and his radio show is not as good as ASOT or World Tour, i can remember liking Twisted and Beauty of Silence, but that was years ago and he produced them with Svenson. I don't like him at all, and 24 is ok for him, maybe a bit too high.

Granted Gielen has had some baaad sets this year... some of his lift-off shows were terrible and the TE2003 set speaks for itself..

but this year aside Gielen is a great DJ, he gets crowds going and he plays killer tunes.
I have to agree with ZombiKiller that his set at TE2002 (feb) is one of the best sets i have heard, fantastic tunes, great mixing !
every Dj has bad sets Oakey, Tiesto, Armin they all have them but i dont see anyone dissing them like Gielen. At the moment his mixing is getting better and he's playing more good tunes but one thing i never understood is why he doesnt play like he does on Lift-Off at events personally his mixing is better in most cases.

IMO Gielen is one of the best and he deserved higher than #24

I actually like his skills as a DJ. I think he has some real talent. But his track selection ever since that legendary Trance Energy Early 2002 set has just gone completely downhill and has never come back up. And at the end of the day, track selection is obviously a major factor in DJing, and for 2003 he was lacking majorly in this department.. Therefore i'm suprised he got to even 24.. Then again, its pretty criminal that people like Judge Jules and Tall Paul who play far cheesier shit than Gielen, and DJing skills are way below par, both managed to finish above him

AMEN brutha.some good words there.

it just seems to me,people on here (who shall remain nameless) seem to be jumping on the 'Gielen sucks' bandwagon too often, and who dont even have any credibility in their arguments.

fair enough,if u dont like a certain dj,thats fine, but if your a member just tagging along in a crowd,to get recognition on here with shit like 'Gielen is the worst dj ever, shouldnt be in the top 10,000 etc' then fuck right off.

IMO Gielen has one more thing over many djs in his live sets, energy.thats why i like him.

And if there is one thing you cant diss him about, its his productions.S & G are one of the scenes best remixing and production teams.thats the bottom line.twisted, the beauty of silence,we know wot u did, beachbreeze and of course, the unforgettable, unknown pleasure are all excellent tunes.

and with remixes of such tunes like, push - the legacy, spacedriver - unspoken,Minimalistix - Close Cover,DJ Tiesto - Lethal Industry etc etc you cant argue

At the end of the day,Gielen is a good DJ who doesnt deserve the criticism he gets.
