TG,

In MD, he also spun:

-New Order -Crystals (?? rmx)
-Mavi- Sufi
-Muse (oakenfold rmx)
-Bullit Cried to dream

I think that was it for the 40 minutes I heard.

Dancing Dude

I saw Oakenjoke at Area: One yesterday...god damn that guy is arrogant. He played a few good songs, some of which i never heard, some of which i would never want to hear again. it seemed as if all the people there were cheering for him, just because hes Oakenfold. He kept pointing to the sky when he played any track, regardless if its good or not, and promoted Perfecto all over the place. The best part of his set was the visuals, but then again every visual had some sort of Perfecto reference on it...the guy thinks hes god...i think not.

As for Carl Cox he tore it up...his set was energetic and lively, and he made everyone wanna dance. I regret that i have never been able to see him at Twilo, becuase i'm sure he would be amazing on Phazon.

He did have those stupid screens up and visuals. I actually did like the visuals with the girl floating around and the virtual tour of nyc, but then towars the end they had his stupidass holding his arms out and just being a complete jerkoff, and the crowd didnt relaly help, they were just feeding him. The only other song I recognized that I could name was faithless - we come 1. He also played a track I really like from tiesto's in search of sunrise 2, but I don't know the name, and even that he played a different and in my opinion worse mix. What was really surprising was that almost every track had vocals, and it was annoying most of the time. This was the first (and if I can help it, last) time I would ever pay to see him, he needs see pvd in action and get a lesson in humbleness...

word, The only problem with carl cox was that the sound system didnt do him justice, in twilo the energy would have been incredible, but that shows you how good he was, given a little, he still tore it up.

I saw Area:One in Philly on Sat. It was freakin' awesome! Everything was perfect, from music, to girls, to the beer.

Carl Cox definitely did better than Oakey that day but that's just my opinion. I've heard Oakey enough times to know his certain tracks and was kinda surprise at some of the new tracks. Don't take anything away from him, he ripped it big time! Carl Cox is always more into what he's playing, you can see by his interaction with the tables, the crowd, and how he is ENJOYING himself on the decks. Juan Atkins was just flawless that day too. The tent could of been alot bigger, I didn't like having to wait in line for an hour to see Oakey. I was watching the Roots and Outkast most of the time, so it wasn't a big deal.

All in all, it IS the #1 concert of the year. If it's comin' to your town......go see it.

Payce
