True.

If Tiesto and Van Dyk are on the flyer u are guna assume better music, but also better crowd and better atmosphere cause u might reckon more people are gunna be there.

But usually u would find a good atmosphere and music in a smaller event with less known DJ's (and this is how every club started off as), its just people would rather go an event where they think will gaurentee them a good night.

I dont go clubbing every week as i used to, partly because of drugs (but i can go without them), but mostly cause most of my m8s dont wanna go all them time. When i do go out (once a month at most) we usually organise to go a big event where a wide range of DJ's are playin so we can see a wide range of styles.

If im clubbing once a month at most i wanna try and see a wide range of styles in that time that im out which is why i prefer things like the NEC or festivals. Also its a massive travel to any club (as my local place closed) so its a blag organising a weekly trip to a club. I still wanna go weekly events but money, lack of interest from friends and distance and travel to a club all play a huge roll in stopping that (think i might have gone off topic a bit)

Grandmaster T completely spot on.

Trance will come again just like house is enjoying its renaissance now.

& in the mean time those who follow trance will be going to smaller nights like Pause & Transitions as the larger clubs are in demise.

No you are right, there is either a very limited or non-existant, serious, local club scene in many regions in the UK and it is starting to get that way in some of the bigger cities too to an extent. That is why I agree with the post above that people are clubbing less regularly and saving themselves for the big festies and events which are still a quality crack more often than not.

Is that satisfactory though, I remember being able to afford to go clubbing to quite big events nearly every fortnight as well as some of the serious midweek nights and always having options for both that would nearly always be busy with like minded peeps. Because of what has happened with the scene though you can't have that confidence as much anymore and in many cases don't even have the options there anyway...hence you end up traveling somewhere once a month or couple of months and have nothing what-so-ever inbetween. That creates more pressure on yourself to enjoy it when you do travel to the big one-off kind of events. Unless the night goes awesome then you are deflated because you have to wait for and afford the next one that comes around. Hence slightly more bitchyness on forums in the wake of big events, criticising the superstar djs for not blowing their minds. When peeps could go more often it was more off the cuff and there was less pressure for it to be awesome evertime and, in turn it was easier to enjoy fully. That is just my opinion obviously and it is all starting to sound like it is all doom and gloom so I think I'm gonna go and get seshed over the next couple of nights out and stop worrying about what went before!
