It's like AIDS - it sits there rotting your PC from the inside, you only find out about it until it's too late and without AdAware/Spybot it's impossible to get rid of.
Even when you think you've deleted it it's still there.

Best thing you can do is download an alternative browser....alternative doesnt mean its crappy.

Google for Mozilla and Mozilla Firebird....the latter is the better of the two.

If you dont feel like downloading another browser or are limited on hard drive space then download the Google toolbar which also blocks popups

If you can't figure out how to use an anti-spyware program and a popup killer, then you're doomed to a life of misery on the Internet. If you're scared or unfamiliar with deleting Registry Keys, then use a RegCleaner. You normally don't get porno in your face unless you transit the sites, so where have you been surfing lately on your lonesome?

If you are on WindowsXP, you can save alot of hell by disabling messenger by doing this

start >> run >> cmd

net stop messenger

then go to

start >> run >> services.msc

Right click on Messenger and disable it.
