They say that the most relaxing music is that with a beat slower than your heartbeat. So if you've got a low pulse (athlete), it'll take a lot less beats to excite you, than others who are not in shape. I guess thats why slow deep vibes seem more relaxing than listening to Atari Teenage Riot (They're insane on the bpm, like 200+). Try that, play some low beat music and see how it affects the heart-beat, there might be interesting results :P
As for me, any energy-based music gets me going, gets me excited, and if there's an emotional connection to the song, then the effect doubles :P
