I know two guys who went through Trebas. One took almost 2 years to find work in the field, the other now works for Royal Bank. I think that had a bit to do with neither having concrete connections though. Try talking to people already working in the field, or see if a small club needs some people. I'm volunteering at my School's pub to get experience.
There's also a program at Centenial college that's cheaper. Not sure if it'd be teh same quality as teh other two, but if you're not too sure it might be the better option till you're sure. The great thing is you can always do stuff like that in sections. I know a guy who produces Choclair (the rapper) how never went to school.
Best thing would be to try and get some exposure first. Maybe talk to one of the guys at some place like Systems. They're pretty friendly.
Good luck,
Fats

Yes, My buddy who takes sound recording at AoID said it cost him $15k annually.
Trebas is the best one in Canada if you want Sound stuff tho.
Good luck. I too have to figure what's in store for myself.

Is your friend happy with the program???and yeah it seems like both places have the same cost $15K,I went to Trebas today and took a tour of the place and I really liked it,nice equipments, wicked studio, ooh btw the guy who I talked to told me that costs for books are seperated from that $15k!!he said each book costs $600 so damn expansive man,and it is only one year.
so anyways Iam gonna go check out AOID as well this week, and see whats the deal there.

My 2 cents...
If you're going to spend that kind of money you better ask more than a few people that have taken the course if it was worth it AND find some people in the field you want to go in and see if that's what you REALLY want to do.
Just remember, no matter how you get the $$$, you're paying for it...
