half a liter of vodka would probably kill me within 10 seconds. it's too bad that Russian guy died but you have to admire him for having the balls to try downing 1.5 liters of vodka in half an hour and living to tell about it...
But, it's Russia. I mean, what else is there to do other than get drunk on vodka?

Reminds me of my teenage years when one of my friends downed a bottle of Bacardi 151 in two swallows as a show of machismo. At least we had the sense to forcibly make him throw it up, else he would have died or gone blind at a minimum. The human body can only take so much alcohol at once. In great quantities, it's toxic. In smaller quantities, like right now as I'm guzzling beer, it's OK!! I guess??
