ive never listened to any of those songs mentioned other than funk soul brother. thats big beat/breaks to which i could also not recommend anything other than funky house music like robbie rivera or static revenger. if your looking for trance music, the TA website has a bunch of livesets and singles you can download for free. quality stuff up there

There's not alot of talk about techno on here. As for progressive house, yeah there's alot of talk here about it, but alot of it today sounds like trance.

Point is, alot of people here do not want to associate TA with Euro thus they cut up and flame it. Mostly because it's the commercial material of EDM, and the majority is cheesy.

ANYWAY...since the forum says under it "trance or any electronic music" and the fact that the livesets section contains a techno liveset from DJ Rush as well as sets that include numerous elements of progressive...the recommendations of such are as follow:

for breaks, you cant go wrong with
Paul Oakenfold - Ready, Steady, Go
its a quintessential example of good breaks and its a great tune

with examples regarding stuff like Fatboy Slim, its a certain type of electronic music that alot of people generally refer to as "Big Beat". Check out anything by The Crystal Method as well as other tracks by Fatboy Slim. They're all quality.

It might even sound like you could possibly enjoy music beyond the boundaries of trance itself, since alot of the stuff you listed as trance aren't exactly prime examples of trance that is popular today. Consider "drum n' bass" as an alternative; its pretty fast, and has some of the beats you might be looking for. Some good dnb resources include:

Drum n' Bass Arena
Hospital Records

DNB Arena is a general site, and Hospital Records is the label by which London Elektricity (a great DNB artist) releases their stuff.

Thanks to all those that offered suggestions and those that gave their opinions. I appreciate it.

As far as my musical preferences go, it is very varied. One night I can be falling asleep listening to beautiful piano from Jim Brickman or George Winston. The next night I can be sleeping to Enigma or Sarah McLachlan, and on my way to work the next morning be cranking the stereo to Metallica or Skid Row. I pretty much enjoy all music except for Country and rap, and there are even a few songs I enjoy in those genere's. When the weekend comes around is when I start cranking up the trance, techno, bnd, or whatever else you want to call it. My wife and I work a long week, and we have discovered that going out on the weekends and listening to trance type music helps us to forget the worries from the week before or coming up week moreso than other musical styles.

Just because I enjoy a few songs from DJ Alligator or DJ Balloon doesn't mean I lock myself into those styles. But as explained in my first posting here, there are reasons why my wife and I enjoy those specific tracks. Hell, I thought it was trance or maybe even techno, I do get confused by all the labeling. Thanks to the fine fellow for correcting my mis-labeling of the styles

To all those that offered suggestions, thank you! My wife and I are heading out now to a trance club for the night, and I will be checking this thread tomorrow, and making a list of all the suggestions.

Peace out!
RockerHard

I dont get it

Ok i don't get it, when some new people come to this forum and ask for help, anybody jump on they ass and say they listening to cheesy.

He was asking for help becouse he was confused with the song. If he thinks those song are trance, you should just tell him nicely,"they are not trance, they are house."

And no wonder why our scene is not getting popular, becouse some people starts saying," you suck becouse you listening to crap"

I can see where Rocker is coming from, they probably don't play too much Trance on the radio stations in Nashville, instead the airwaves are probably deluged with Country music.

Rocker, the above tunes you mentioned are for the most part not Trance. But if you like them, then great.

There are some hypersensitive people around here that get their feathers in a bunch when they hear "cheese trance". Ignore them, hehe.

There really are some quality productions available here on the Tranceaddict website. Some other artists you might enjoy are PVD, BT and Moby (Moby isn't as Trancy but you will probably like him.)

By the way, you have good taste, Enigma, Sarah McLachlan, Metallica, and Trance. All some of my faves.

Hope this helps you.
