wow Slade, you were into Jazz?

What sort of jazz were you into before you found out about "black & blue" ? - traditional jazz? vocal stuff i.e. Fitzgerald, Simone, Cole? Armstrong, Miller? Coltrane? Or were you more into the nu-jazz wave?

Got kickstarted in 98/99 by some older tunes like kay cee - escape, robert miles - children, b.b.e - seven days & one week, and of course hybrid - unfinished symphony

Started listening to commercial/popular dance/trance on kiss fm and kix fm, from there on started downloading music cos it was too bitchy to try and get trance compilations when you're 14 and have no money

Went to do work experience at kiss fm the next year, went to oakenfold (dj set) & chicane (live!) as my first event at the docks. Go the sheds!

And it skyrocketed from there... just as freefall - skydive and delerium - silence (tiesto's in search of sunrise mix) were released.

I've never looked back.

I learnt Clarinet at school from year 4, so my heavy influences were guys like Benny Goodman & Dave Brubek.

To be honest I never really digged the old stuff, more the new more intricate stuff.

Slow moving emotional vocal jazz pisses me off no end.

Basically, in 99 I heard Matt Darey's Ibiza Euphoria and it all snowballed from there.

I first started listening to trance back in 93 with acts like Orbital and Jam & Spoon. back then it wasn't really called trance just techno and most people thought it sucked. it's come a long way since then

when i took LSD and heard the sounds in my head.

As for me, I think I got into listening to the cheesy stuff first. Then ended up liking the good stuff. Acutally I'm not really sure how I got into it. My sister got me into it actually
