alienware computers are so overpriced its rediculous. for the comp I just put together, it would have cost me $1000 USD more just to buy the exact same thing from alienwear, with less mods and customizations (silent heatsinc, quiet psu, vga heatpipe cooler, panaflows, etc).

Dude, isn't it dangerous to be running the PCs without their covers? For you that is... Don't u want all of that electricity/radiation shielded by the cases?

My sole purpose on this Earth is to make everyone else feel better about their PCs, because I know mine is worse than them all.

no, it's not dangerous. You can run a computer from a motherboard lying on a table, as long as it's not grounded to anything, it's fine.
There is no electricity that can be physicaly touched for a shock, on the mainboard or anywhere else that's exposed, and it's also under a desk in where it cant be touched at all.
And computers dont give off radiation, usualy the monitors do, so I'm not really worried.
It runs without a CPU fan, it's a 166 w/32MB of RAM and a 1.0GB HDD running debian linux 2.4.20 - it has an uptime of 389 days and 0% load average

My RAM is faster than his too, I'm running 1GB 400MHz DDR RAM while he's just running 1GB DDR RAM (not sure which speed). My computer also runs a whole 10-degrees Celsius cooler than his.
$8000 for a PC??? ARE THEY ON CRACK???? I DON'T GIVE A FLYING MONKEY'S ASS IF IT HAS A NICE BLUE OR GREEN LCD FRONT PANEL WITH CUTE BARGRAPHS SHOWING PERFORMANCE - this is friggin insane! I especially loved this one:
Built-in 56K V.92
Just in case you don't have any cash left for your high-speed internet bills and wanna check your AOL mail...
a PC "New Russian" (noviy russkiy) would be proud of.
BTW, I like the way these guys ripped off of the MAC website design.
There is no way I am spending over $1000 for parts on PC. And all the wackjobs that go through insane steps of nitro-cooling their CPUs to overclock it by measly 200MHz are just FUQED...
p.s.s. you know you are lamer if:
1. Your PC glows in the dark
2. Your power supply costs more than your CPU
3. Your harddrive is over 500GB and it's IDE (ATA)
4. You have a $5000 system, out of which $4500 were spent on case mods
5. You have a CPU that's overclocked 2x the posted speed, yet you can't understand why your system crashes so frequently
6. You have a Sixtysevengadjillion Googolherz CPU and a lousy 133MHz RAM
and finally
7. You have no idea of what I am talking about.
Thank you for listening.
good night.
