as Dj, Hawtin is very good. At the last I love techno in Gent, he was really good. But ok, he's very narrow-minded with his oppinion about trance. So, as a personality, he's a poor guy who's jealous of the success of trance. Techno is just nice for going out and dancing all night long, but it's just about that. No feelings, no deeper sence, just beats! Something who suits a superficial person like Hawtin.

I lived in Hawtins hometown in Windsor for six years before moving to London. I would go over to Detroit to catch him and others at the clubs there. As a Dj he is excellent, as a person he seems like an ASS . You would think that these guys would support each other no matter what they spin. Wrong. I just think it's sad that a techno DJ says something about that......
I hardly ever listen to techno - it has to be very good for me to listen to it, which in most cases it isn't (Unlike trance)...maybe thats why I never heard of him. Even if I had, when people make silly comments like that I ignore them. Usually they are just looking for attention or are just too narrow minded to understand that everyone is entitled to listen to whatever they want to listen to...I won't bash him because he listens to techno.

Everyone has their likes and dislikes, but when a semi famous DJ says something like that he needs to back it up and say WHY he thinks Trance Sux . . .

I live in his hometown and I talked to the guy. He used to be cool and he told me that he wouldn't mind experimenting with some Trance.
I wish people would just let others listen to the music that makes them happy. Richie has lethis succss go to his head more than it should have. I am for lack of a better word ashamed to have idolized that man for the time I did. This has chnged my whole perspective of him.
Why do you guys believe everything that you see and hear? And if he did really say it: let him have the right to...don't let it bother you and go on living ur happy life
