I was 13 when I got my first setup. Two Gemini PT-2000s, Numark DM1920X, JBL EON Power15 and a pair of Sony MDR-V900s. I've since upgraded to a pair of TTX1s and one Tech 12, Allen & Heath Xone:62 and a pair of Mackie SRM450s.

I'd say you're making a good choice with the TTX1s. I think they're great.

I'm 15, and I got my first Turntable (Technics SL-1200 MK2) about two months ago. Still working on the other gear. Gotta start somewhere though.

21, started last May with a pair of Numarks (DJ Package) , now I have a pair of Technics sl-1200 MK5,Behringer Mixer 300, Sony 700 headphones, a pair of white labels, a guitar (shame) speaker, and about 90 records !
