i agree a lot with trance djs not having nearly the skills of other genre's djs. but there are a few factors for that: trance is usually a bit faster im bpm's than prog/house for example, so it'll be a bit harder to beatmatch; also, trance records are not nearly as flexible for scratching, looping and layering as techno and house would be.

but yeah, obviously tiesto oakie & co shouldn't be called the best dj's in the world when they trainwreck frequently

Believe me mixing fast music is alot easier than mixing slower stuff..

What do you mean believe you? I find no difference in what speed the record goes at. Therefore it's obviously a matter of the person, not a general rule to all DJ's.

personally I'd say that if you can't match a beat to a 0.01% at 130 bpm then you shouldn't be in the job

The general consensus between Djs I have played beside is that music played at plus 8 makes it alot easier to mix and makes it easier to cover up mistakes...
