humans are creative beings. when we don't do enough creativity
the balance of synthesis and analysis is askew and it brings us
down because analysis is a destructive action, but both are needed
for the other to work correctly (hence why it is not good for them
to be out of balance).
so anyway, everyone has creative capability.. some more than others, but even if you can't make wonderful music that doesn't mean you won't ever be able to. even if it sucks at least it is fun. no one is going to be mad if you dont write like bt or chicane or m.i.k.e. those people have worked their whole lives to get where they are... and that is with a lot of natural ability already... basically what im saying is that its good to be creative, and the main point is to not let your worries about not being good get in the way of creating things.. and not just music, be creative in everything that you can, because creativity in one thing enhances creativity in the others.
basically the moral of the story is to live a creative life.
anyway, im out. |
*applauds* Rob, that post was amazing. That's exactly what keeps me pumped up. I already understood this, the second I tried to produce music. It was easy for me, because I had a creative gift my whole life - I just never really learned instruments, except instruments in grade school like Flutes, Bells, and Keyboards. But, I totally forgot about those things in time.
It helps to know musical theory and such, but when you have the gift, it makes everything easier. If you don't, I think you should at least try - you never know what cool stuff you may make!
I mean I didn't make cool music in one night. In fact, it was a grueling, painful process for me. It still is for me in many ways, because I am trying to learn how to 'master' my sounds. It took me many months of practice to get the sounds I wanted, but I think it was well worth it. In the end, it makes my production more smoother now, and all those years I spent trying to perfect my sounds, helped a lot.
"Dumba", instead of analyzing so much, I think you should just do it. Don't think, or hesitate, ACTION is required! I hope that helps! -Mental
