it was a joke. just before this thread was posted, arturo closed another thread that was ruined by an unrelated flame war and said in his last comment: "Tiesto is done and it's time to admit it! " .

lighten up, no one's done till they're dead.

Floor Control has some potential, but unless PvD can give it a serious kick in the pants I think it's an otherwise boring uplifting track.

The Morph remix of Sunday Afternoon is pretty nice, though.

wrong, his re-edits maybe...but they are for him to play for his audience, not for release.

his real remixes are solid... there are many examples of this. take club attack for example, the original sucked. the real thing is, pvd just hasn't taken out the time to work on remixing anything for a long time. a quick re-edit for his own set, yes....

his last few actual remixes were of the following tracks:

starchaser - falling star
sinead o connor - guide me god
romanthony- never fuck 4 or 5 mixes
rammstein- ich will 2 mixes
U2 - elevation
Jam&Spoon - be angeled 2 mixes
members of mayday - 10 in 01 2 mixes

this is about the extent of remixing paul van dyk has done since 2001.

all other tracks that people complain about were either remixes for politics of dancing, some of which turned out fucking good compared to the originals, and others are simple edits of songs he made for himself to mix and play in sets. to judge him as a remixer based on these personal edits is unfair. judge him on the list above, if you think the remixes on that list all suck.... then thats just your opinion.

well i used to be a PVD fan back when he was producing songs that were both creative and innovative. Definently a pioneer. But i look at his recent work, and i'm disappointed. Out There and back a work of art and led the trance scene more than Oakie's TrancePort1 did, which deserves absolute praise.
but i listen to him now and everything just seems too simple. The album was, well, shit. I found more enjoyment in Ferry's album. I won't say that PVD is better or less than other artists out there, but i think his time has come for him to try and break the rules of trance once again and blow us away. But i just don't see him or attempting going in this direction. I give him his respects, but i just don't like the current PVD. Maybe in the future i'll come back to him

ok, but as a pvd fan i feel obligated to correct things that are wrong. you have described a lack of enthusiasm for his latest works as an ARTIST. there is clear distinction that must be made between his artist works and his remix works.

now the remix works are all mislabelled and confused...

the question arose from the chance of him doing a remix of the two new vandit tracks. people talk shit about his remixing, without even realizing where he did a remix and where he didn't...and i wanted to make sure they know they are way off base for even thinking they have a right to criticize his remixing based on his re-edits which are once and for all made for his personal use!!! his remixes are those that i listed in my last post.
