If you want to come to Sydney, University of New South Wales would be best for Information Technology, although University of Sydney has a better social scene and better women!!

if you are coming from Norway I think you will probably find Brisbane is too hot a lot of the time.

Sydney and Melbourne far better for trance scene, better in most ways really except a lot more expensive too.

Brisbanes not so bad, you have the Gold Coast just 45 mins drive away.
Nice hot weather with huge storms in the afternoons.
Living here is much much cheaper than Melbourne and Sydney.
If you get sick of the weather there is a couple of towns which get occasional winter snowfalls just 5 hours away.

Hmm, Sydney sounds great, but I gotta say, the beach+cheap prices up at the Golden Coast seems *VERY* tempting.

This is like choosing what ice cream to eat, it'll be a treat anyways!

I don't have to make the final decision before Thursday, so I've still got some time ...
But I'd hate to make a bad decision. I guess what I need is sun and more sun , trance/house clubs and reasonable prices.
Considering what I hear people say, Brisbane is not the good choice, Sydney is.

But what about the Gold Coast? I think I'll ask around some more

From what i've heard, i'd tend to agree, look at Sydney or Melbourne rathar than Brisbane scene wise. Also, isn't Norway cold-ish? The Gold Coast/Bris would be a bit of a shock if you're used to a cold climate

No, that's okay, I just got back from a 6 week stay in Ecuador.
I loved every god damn celcius I could get. Before that I was visited Bangkok during it's rainy season, that was kind of funky. 90% humidity and 30 degrees celcius in the night! But anyways, just as long as the bedroom has aircon, that's okay

Norway is rather cold-ish I'd say, yes A normal winter lasts between October and March, that's 6 months of temperatures between 5C and -20C. Today is a -2C, old people's starting to trip on icy roads

I'm extremely excited that you're talking about clubbing scenes, in noorway, it's all dead. There hasn't been any international DJ's here in 2 years!

University of Sydney is full, that's a bummer, so I think I'll head for MacQuarie University... The website says it's 25 minutes outside of Sydney, that's okay

Woo Macquarie Uni

That's where I went! The lifestyle out at Macquarie is awesome, very laid back, lots of beer in the sun hehehe

The only problem with Macquarie is that transport can be difficult (there's no trains near there), though the bus services are pretty regular. Car transport is definitely recommended for Macquarie though.

Have fun

Gold Coast scene isn't very good so you would find yourself travelling up to Brisbane for most events. Gold Coast is good for hitting the beach and women. They do have a couple good house clubs there but thats about it.

It all comes down to what you want to do while you're here and how much money you have to play with. Flights out of Sydney are pretty cheap so you may be better off going there and then just visiting other places on weekends.

Sydney is great for women and beaches too :P

btw if you can get into UNSW I'd recommend that over Macquarie if you can get in. But both uni's are good.
