Probably the best radar detector you are going to get is the Valentine 1. but for 400 dollars is it worth it to you. I am pretty sure that virginia is the only state that detectors are illegal to be used in.

theres this one road near my house which is basically like one of those roads which goes through the entire town, and EVERYONE uses it, but becuase theres like 2 houses on the street, a road whcih SHOULD have a speed limit of 50 or at least 45 has a speed limit of 30.
everyone in the town has been tickted at least once there, myself included

Yes you're correct about it being illegal in Virginia, although im not sure its the ONLY state.. see above posts that mention MA, IL, and WV.. not too sure about WV because i think they ARE legal in West VA.

As soon as you cross into the state of Virginia you get a nice big blue "Welcome to Virginia" sign, followed shortly by a menacing black sign that says Radar Detectors Illegal.
