well, i live on the west coast, and i did so much better on the act: 33 on the act compared to like a 1240 on SAT lol

The ACT is a standardized test that is used for high school students applying to college/uiniversity.
It is similar to the SAT though it has a smaller scale (36 is the highest possible).
The ACT is superior (IMHO) in one major way. Unlike the SAT which penalizes you 1/8 of a point for each incorrect answer the ACT is based only on correct answers with no penalties. Educated guessing is an important skill which the SAT actually penalizes takers for using.

Ah, I see. I'm not sure what kind of testing is done down here, although I had to do very simaliar tests to get a place at high school.
