Also, how do you explain the "robbing artists" mentality when artists are dead, their careers are over or they are no longer on the same label? At this point who is losing out?

Lastly, how does all this fit in with the TranceAddict love for European releases? When you purchase that vinyl or CD, just who is winning? Sure, in some cases it's the record labels and producers, but what about when you're someone who wants to buy Ferry Corsten's album? Sure, you can dish out $62 to pay for all the importing fees, but do you honestly believe that Ferry will be $60 richer because of that purchase? It'd make more sense to rip the CD and send $5 to directly Ferry's mailbox. If we got 5,000 people to do that maybe we could see Ferry with some GOLD TEETH!!!

Don't get me wrong. I have probably purchased more music than you ever will in your lifetime. However, I definitely think there are some cases where downloading is more than justified. The only thing that has changed is the medium.

Back in the day, bootleg cassette tapes were the talk of the town. Today it's CD-Rs, DVD-Rs and MP3s. This issue is just OLD.

What sort of proof do you have that these record labels disappeared because of MP3s? Did you ever consider it could've been due to poor management? Poor promotion? Supporting the wrong artists in the wrong market?

There are plenty of other labels that are surviving despite the existence of MP3 distribution. For the ones still around, why do you suppose that is? Maybe they are doing something right?

Well excuse me for buying my records directly from Europe. I don't shop in record stores. I shop online. Seeing as how you didn't answer any of my questions earlier, I take it any further discussion with you is pointless. By the way, there's now this thing called "pay-per-download" which millions are jumping on. If you weren't so busy pointing fingers perhaps you'd realize not all downloading is illegal.

And so what if I do download? I buy what I like and what is available. There's no shame in that.
