AFI is great! I have been listening to them for years now. I saw them at the Warped Tour a couple of years ago and had Davy Havok sign my shirt. They are one of the better punk bands out there. Their lyrics are like poetry. I absolutely love their cd "Black Sails in the Sunset". They won an MTV music award this year for their song "Girls not grey". They have been around for a long time and they are only getting recognized now for their talents because punk is the new cool thing in top 40. They should have gotten recognition years ago.

I don't think their newer stuff is as good as what they used to do. They are on my list of bands that I don't actively like, but I don't dislike either.

By the way, AFI IS old school punk.

I think it's funny that you guys always bitch when people bash "techno" and trance, and then you go and do the exact same thing to Rap, Punk, Metal, etc.

Aaaaah but that's different, Rap simply asks to be bashed

No seriously. When people bash techno and trance, it's because they don't like it and think: what I don't like, sucks.
Same goes for people who mindlessly bash "true" punk(not Avril/skater punk and stuff), metal, old-skool rap (okay they had funny hair back then ^^), classical music, etc...
But when people start to bash Rap, RnB, Nu-Metal, "Pop" Punk and all their cross-overs and derivatives it's because these music styles are getting overhyped, overplayed and simply bashed down all our throats and ears. MTV/TMF shows almost nothing else than RnB & Rap...with maybe some Nu-Metal now and then. Radio stations, especially the big ones, do the same. And when they do play "techno" & "trance". Most of the time TA's are horrofied, strangely enough sometimes those who hate techno & trance love it...strange folks those TH-ers
